Miriam's 60th Birthday Party - March 31

Saturday morning Lin and I woke up early to fly to Armidale for Miriam's 60th birthday party.  Here is the Armidale Regional airport. Take note that people can wait for the planes to come in very close to the tarmack.  That doesn't happen in the states.

Linda got to see the Crimson Rosellas. But no kangaroos yet (and we've been looking).

And then the PARTY started with a real bush band, similar to our square dances.

Yeah I have the Internet at Miriam's

Finally, I can blog a little. We arrived in Sydney airport at 6:30 a.m., May 31. Took me about an hour to get through Customs while Lin and Den breezed right through with their e-passports but they did wait for me!

We checked in at our hotel in downtown Sydney and realized we were very close to the Opera House and the botanical gardens.  So, after a little rest for Den, we headed out to the Sydney harbor to wait for their VIVID light show to begin. The pictures don't do it justice.  It was a beautiful show of colors around the harbor. The first picture is in front of the Opera House before the light show started.

Getting Ready to go Down Under

YEAH!  We're headed back to Australia. However, there is lots of prep work to be ready to fly out to Australia. Bill left today and I leave next week with Linda and Denny Zubler. We'll see each other at Miriam's 60th birthday party in Armidale and then not till June 14 when we all fly to Darwin to explore Kakadu National Park. Drew will join us on June 10 and we'll head to Hunter Valley and the wineries.

So, come along if you'd like to follow our escapades in the land Down Under.
