Monday - Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.

Up bright and early for our day on Ellis Island. Waiting to board the ferry, Miss New Jersey to Ellis Island and Lady Liberty.

Walked up about 277 steps to the pedestal. View from there was amazing. So clear. Spent about 6 hours between Ellis Island and Lady Liberty. Great day but tiring.

The building where the Immigrants came to was immense. In its heyday, the registry area was packed. It's so very hard for me to imagine leaving everything I know to a land far far away, with people speaking different languages, wearing different clothes.  It had to be scary. The exhibits telling the stories helped us understand what it must have been like.

Fun times but we were all tired so back to the camper for a nap before dinner. Then a game of Play Nine.

After nine rounds, the winner was ME!  Decided to take a walk around Jersey City to see the lights.

Jersey City lights

New York City lights. Beautiful night for walking but a very full day tomorrow so back to the camper to sleep.
