Let the festivities begin

After a morning kayak ride, we drove into Winston Salem. Erin’s sister, Kirsten had a tea party for the ladies at the Flour Box Tea House. Elegant time, hats and all!

Then a visit to the Foothills Brewery and back to the campground.

Rest up because tomorrow is move to the hotel and rehearsal and party at Junius Lindsay Winery.

A two wedding trip

Before heading south for Drew’s wedding, we went northwest for Bree and Jesse’s wedding.

What a fun country setting for the wedding. It was in a large tractor shed that was transformed into a wedding venue. Perfect setting for the couple.

The wheelbarrow below was “planted” with seed packets as favors. Cute idea

The guestbook was hearts the you signed with a wish and dropped them into a shadow box. Another cut idea.

Cousins Brenda, mother of the bride and Patty, aunt of the bride.

Bill and I practiced our dance moves here so we are ready for the next wedding. Fun, fun music.

Now we are headed south through West Virginia. We can tell we’re in WV because of the curvy, hilly roads. We decided to stay in Lake Stevens, west of Beckley WV. The campground looked nice on their website but it has narrow sites and narrow, windy roads to get there. They did have a beautiful lake and great hiking trails though.

August 1 - kayaking and a Rodeo in Jackson

Kayaking started off our day. So relaxing. The water was like glass. The Snake River runs right in front of our campground so all Linda and I had to do was unload crap from the back of the truck and then load the kayaks. Made it to the river. Ahhhhh

Then it was on to a Rodeo Linda had booked for us. Sooooo much fun but wonder what their bodies feel like the next day!
