Day 8 - Last Full Day in Bar Harbor

Today started with oatmeal with blueberries that we picked at the campground. YUM.

Now it's time to go go to the church that sells pies and then on to shopping in downtown Bar Harbor. Here's our pie box that one of the church people paint on every pie box and our pie. Can't wait to dig in!

The native blueberries are so tasty. They are small but have so much flavor. We've been trying different restaurants to see which one has the best clam chowdah (Maine speak for chowder) and lobster roll so today Andrea, Jillian and i had some chowdah downtown. It was pretty close to being the best but the Lobster Pound across from our campground still has it for the top one.

Bill and Nathan went on a hike up Dorr Mountain (inside the park) while we went shopping. We met up at Sieur du Mont, on the Park Loop and went back to the campground for lunch. Andrea and I still wanted to go on one more hike, so we went on the Gorge Trail. It was a pretty hike through the wood but there wasn't any water in the gorge. Still managed to top off 10,000 steps which is the smallest amount of steps since I've been here.

For dinner, we decided to try Dave Shaffer's suggestion of the Upper Deck in Southwest Harbor. Quaint little town and a great restaurant. Discovered the best lobster roll yet (except for Angela Alsup's (Carl's sister). She still makes the best.

Most of tomorrow will be spent tearing down camp and heading for Boston. We are staying at the Minuteman Campground. So far Bar Harbor Campground has been our favorite. It's a huge campground but very clean, dog walk, heated swimming pool, laundry and very hot showers.
