Off to see the countryside - June 1

What a wonderful day we had touring a few small cities around Armidale.  A friend of Miriam's drove us to Tingha, a typical rural town in New South Wales, and then on to Uralla.  In its heyday, Tingha was a mining town where a large community of Chinese established themselves.  They had a general store that is still there today with all the goods they had in the store preserved as a museum.  It's also has a small cafe where they serve Devonshire tea and homemade scones.

Some other buildings in Tingha.

Below is a typical bar, cafe, with rooms above.

On to another town, Uralla.

On the way back to Armidale, we saw a sheep shearing shed.

Great day. Tomorrow we're heading to Dorrigo, a rain forest.
