May 9 - Ridgway State Park

After breakfast, we started out hiking the Twin Fawn trail to the MearsbTrail to the Enchanted Trail. Beautiful and peaceful 7.4 mile hike. Since our campground is on top of a Mesa, we first had to walk down the Telwin Fawn trail to catch the Mears trail. Reuben walked that whole way. Here’s the reservoir that is part of the campground. We walked around most of it.

The water is a deep shade of blue-green. Lenny kept trying to get down to it. The water is very low. They are in a drought situation because they haven’t had the snowfall they usually do.

We could see the mountains which still had snow. Hopefully that will melt and run to the reservoir.

After that long hike, we all needed to take a rest. Reuben was sleeping the minute he made it to the couch!

Fire time. Tomorrow we leave. Not sure when we’ll be able to have a fire again so one last one for now it’s been good to be camped for 3 days.
