After the service and a reception for the confirmed, we headed up to see the Gila Cliff Dwellings. The road up was twisty-turny for 44 miles. This shirt will say it all.
We road through the Gila National Forest. Beautiful but rugged country. This road is called the Trail of the Mountain Spirits.
When we at last pulled into the National Monument, we knew the dogs couldn’t go on the hike to see the Dwellings, but they had kennels that they could stay in while we hiked. I think the slept the whole time. The attendant said she didn’t hear a bark out of them.
After we got back from hiking to the Cliff Dwellings, we took the dogs on a short hike in the National Forest.
Then it was back on the road to get back to the campground. The only wildlife we’ve seen was a herd of feral wild hogs that crossed in front of us. Till I got my camera out, I only got a pic of the last one. Bill said the south has a problem with wild hogs.
Here’s our Easter dinner that Bill cooked on the grill outside. Maybe not typical but GOOD!
I'm always so fascinated by the cliff dwellings! Amazing!
ReplyDeleteI remember that when Lisa and George lived next to State gameland in Florida they would see wild pigs sometimes.
Oh, and I love that church and that big flame!
