April 3 - Joshua Tree

Traveling from Mesa AZ to Joshua Tree. A LOT of nothing here in the desert. Pics along the road. Love how they decorate the overpasses. 

Like I said ... a lot of nothing. 

Lots of saguaros along the way. 

A 15-mile straight road. We took the scenic way instead of Interstate 10. Good choice. 

Finally made it to Joshua Tree. Nice campground, Joshua Tree Lake RV Park. This is our view for the next 2 days. I think I could live here for a month!

Took a hike in the field around our campground and found one lone Joshua Tree. Can you see it in the background?

Used our Instant Pot tonight to make enchilada casserole. Delish. Would make again. 

Now we are sitting outside around the fire. The stars are really shining beautifully tonight. No pollution here. 

After a couple of s’mores, we will call it a night. Looking forward to hiking in and around JTree tomorrow.
