Day 10 - Sonoma and Napa Valley

Before we got started for wine country, we had Lenny and Reuben fun through some agility things in the dog park.

Look at Reuben's smile.

First stop was Sonoma. Walked around the town, stopped at a wonderful quilt shop and Sonoma State historical site.

Situated around a central plaza (the largest of its kind in California) filled with charming shops and restaurants, the city is home to Sonoma State Historic Park—site of the northernmost Franciscan Mission in California and birthplace of the California State Bear Flag.

Then it was time for wine. First winery was Balleto.

Drew and Erin are in a wine club here so tastings were free. Took a picnic lunch and ate at the winery. Only thing missing was listening to Biscuit Jam!

Next winery was MacPhail in Sebastopol.

Reuben had too much wine.

Heading back to the campground to have pizza and s'mores and play a game of Sequence. Doesn't get any better than this.

  2. Bill, if you keep stopping at these quilt shops, you will have a truck load for your return trip. But I guess that would be OK, since winter is coming.
