Day 2 - Friday September 30

Today's travels across Indiana, Illinoiis and Iowa were pretty uneventful, which is a good thing but a little boring. We are listening to a good audiobook by Davud Baldacci, so that helps, but puts the boys to sleep. Drove through more rain. It's chilly and damp.

Yes, Erin, those are two of your boxes behind Reuben. Our truck will be empty when we get to California!

The town of Indianapolis as we drove by on the bypass around. Told you this would be boring.

Instead of taking pics of dried cornfields, I decided to take one of a grain elevator we saw...and many more.

Windy country, so windmills make sense.

They are awake and hoping for a rest stop soon.

Crossing over the mighty Mississippi (have always loved spelling that word).

Because of the 1 hr time change, Bill decided to drive longer ... Not a good idea on a Friday night. Campgrounds were filled up. I finally found one in Omaha with 2 sites left but it was a first-come first-serve campground, Walnut Lake campground. I explained that we were coming from PA and I was cranky so the owner said he'd put my name  on one since we were traveling so far. Unfortunately, it was dark when we finally found the place (things were getting testy!). It was hard to see to back the camper into our spot. I'm sure we were the entertainment for those around us. We unhooked, took a short walk around the campground and then I had my wine. Life is looking a lot better.

Tomorrow we'll be traveling through Nebraska and part of Wyoming. Hopefully more to see.
