Day 17 - Oct 14 - 1st full day in Grand Canyon

You I Started our day with a walk up to the rim of the canyon. No matter how many times you see the Grand Canyon, the vast beauty still takes my breath away. 

It was fun seeing Lin's reaction when she saw it for the first time. 

No picture will tell or show you the beauty or the vastness of the canyon. You have to experience it yourself. 

It was time for Randy Louden and Lou and Denise, Scott and Jen, and Brenda and Doug to arrive at the campground so we went back to the camper to meet them and have lunch. 

Since it was Jen's first time to see the canyon, back we went for a few more steps around the rim. 

Lenny and Reuben walked the trail with us. Lenny would have liked to crawl on the rocks. He's on the edge there. Reuben said carry me! 

Then after a crockpot dinner we decided to go to Yaki Point to watch the sunset. That added a few more steps and we ended up 27,300 steps. 

Randy and Bill are getting ready to hike down into the canyon tomorrow, so they were going through their stuff to make sure they have what they need BUT not too much because they have to carry it all!
